Founder & CEO, Academic Language Experts · Creator, AI Boot Camp

I'm the Founder and CEO of Academic Language Experts, an author services company supporting multilingual and ESL researchers in producing clear, rigorous, publication-ready work. I built ALE from scratch to a multi-million-dollar business working closely with researchers, publishers, and institutions worldwide.

Over the past several years I've become one of the most active practitioner-voices on generative AI in scholarly communication. I've trained 30,000+ researchers and research managers across leading European universities — Imperial College London, KU Leuven, Corvinus, Aalto, EARMA — and run hands-on boot camps that focus on how AI tools actually fit into the daily workflow of a working researcher, grants office, or NCP.

I'm a regular Chef at The Scholarly Kitchen, where I write about AI's impact on peer review, author disclosure, and publication ethics. I'm a core member of CANGARU — the international working group developing AI use and reporting guidelines for academic writing, representing the European Association of Science Editors (EASE). I co-host the New Books Network — Scholarly Communication podcast and review for Learned Publishing (Wiley).

My focus is the practical and behavioral side of AI in research: how authors actually use these tools, how publishers and funders are responding, and how policy can support responsible adoption without undermining trust or research integrity. That perspective — built from thousands of hours sitting next to real researchers as they try real tools on real work — is what shapes every session of the boot camp.
